All India Radio (AIR) was a huge influence for me while growing up in the 1980s. When I received an invitation in late 2019 to talk about ‘Career in Design’ for the AIR Kochi FM programme ‘Yuvavani,’ I was very excited and talked non-stop for an hour into a mic at their studio at Kakkanad! My speech in ‘Malayalam’ was edited and aired as a two-part-series in January 2020. Later, a couple of re-broadcasts also happened.
Hearing the broadcast, some students and parents in Kerala started connecting me with questions. This eventually led to my ‘Sunday Morning Chat’ with young designers that was started in mid-2020 and is still continuing today.
Last week, my ‘Career in Design’ 2020 talk was uploaded on YouTube and other podcast platforms by AIR Kochi FM Radio Station.
