“Oh, CTF is also ‘Capture The Flag!’ Those are two flags on the logo… Clever!”
Everything started a couple of days ago, during a coffee chat at TAFE, when a few of my friends and I were thinking of floating a company that will provide cybersecurity training for employees. Then I created a name and designed a logo. My friend was impressed with ‘CTF,’ the abbreviation of the name ‘Cyber Tech Force,’ and the logo designed by me.
The ‘CTF’ Hexagonal Shield
The Cyber Tech Force definitely needs a shield motif. Inspired by superhero logos, the graphic has a hexagonal footprint. To make the yellow colored logo readable on a white background, a thin outline stroke and a shadow are added for better contrast.
This added ‘complexity’ of an outline stroke and shadow makes the logotype resemble a comic book title. But who is complaining?
Inspiration and Logo Logic
The inspirations for the Cyber Tech Force logo are the Superman “S” logo, the Chevrolet Corvette logo, File download icon and flags planted on top of a summit.
The logo hides the letters C, T, and F in a hexagonal shape. In Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses, you will definitely find hexagons — in structural engineering, biology, chemistry… So this plays right into the education theme of Cyber tech Force.
‘Capture The Flag’ or CTF is a cybersecurity exercise in which participants attempt to find text strings, called “flags”, which are secretly hidden in purposefully vulnerable programs or websites. So the logo of Cyber Tech Force (again, CTF) shows two flags. These also denote a goal or a challenge to conquer.
A file download icon is also hidden in plain sight. This represents knowledge transfer, again connects to the education theme of Cyber Tech Force.
Logo and Logotype
Linear and stacked lockup versions of the logo and logotype have been created for use in wider and narrower spaces on the website, social media, and merchandise. ‘Cyber Tech Force’ is written using the Agency FB typeface with bold weight. Its condensed letterforms and uniform stroke width give it a monospaced-like, digital readout quality. The vibe is similar to that of computer terminals, code, and command-line interfaces.
The website development of Cyber Tech Force is in progress and once the services on offer are better defined, the site will go live. Watch this space for future updates on the Cyber Tech Force website.
UPDATE 02-MAY-2026
I attended the ‘Concept to Creation’ (C2C) program by CERI – Centre for Entrepreneurial Research and Innovation during March to May, 2026. It helped me to refine the concepts and so the CyberTech Force website is designed and launched.
