Design — Logo for ‘Sree’

Creating a personal brand is always an advantage for a designer. This helps to tie all communications on behalf of the designer in social media and personal websites/blogs. I did try to design one for myself years ago but it is rarely used now.

In a casual chat, my friend Sreejesh mentioned that he was thinking about creating a logo for himself. He wanted it to be ‘ശ്രീ’ — ‘Sree’ in Malayalam.

In jest, I doodled some ideas in ‘Paper by FiftyThree’ app in my iPad and showed one potential approach to Sreejesh. In my doodle ‘ശ്രീ’ Malayalam script resembled an elephant and Sreejesh was immediately hooked on to the idea.

Sreejesh converted the doodle digitally into a very nice free flowing script. His approach of using brush strokes and flourishes at the ends added more character to the pictogram. He did a very good job!
